We enjoyed a family Christmas celebration here for 9 people and were really impressed. The service was friendly and efficient and the food was fantastic. My lemon sole was the nicest bit of fish I’ve had in a while and the fish & chips looked amazing. The tacos were great too. Such a great selection, good drinks menu and plenty for kids, as well as an activity sheet that kept them quiet for ages! And last but not least the view is amazing! Will definitely be back!

Fantastic meal with Colmans. Scallops were so tasty although on the smaller side considering they’re king scallops. We had a hake for main as well as lemon sole.. delicious, finished with a yummy sticky toffee. Staff were all lovely and service was good.

In house raspberry lemonade was delicious and the classic size fish and chips was cooked to perfection, also got a curry sauce which I always say is absolutely perfect (in my opinion anyway). Not the cheapest place for fish and chips but yet to have a bad meal at the place and the cheese souffle (with flakes of fish) is also amazing with lahings of cheese sauce . Add to this the amazing building with beautiful 360 views and lovely decor, you can't go wrong giving Coleman's seafood temple a visit on a special occasion. Reservations would be recommended as the place can get very busy as it's so popular, outdoor seating is also available

Colman Seafood Temple is an unforgettable celebration of the sea! From the moment we arrived, the 5 star service stood out, warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food they serve. We started with the prawn tacos and the haddock souffle — both beautifully crafted and bursting with flavor. For mains, I had the seabass catch of the day, perfectly cooked and delicately seasoned, while my partner enjoyed the Malaysian seafood curry, which was rich, vibrant, and full of fresh seafood. We also ordered the fishcakes, but ended up taking them to go — the portions were far more generous than expected! Each dish showcased creativity and respect for top-quality ingredients. The attention to detail, stunning presentation, and the way each plate honors the sea makes this place truly special. A must-visit for anyone who loves great seafood in a gorgeous, relaxed setting.

Undoubtedly the best cod and chips in Tyne and Wear. It really is worth paying a premium when you're getting such good quality. The cod is tasty, the batter is crispy, the chips are perfectly cooked and the curry tastes lovely. It's always busy and consistently good

Amazing food, beautiful setting and the most friendly staff. Just celebrated our son’s birthday and they served up a treat. He went for lobster and the wife and I had the incredible seafood platter, both highly recommended. Our daughter went for superb fish and chips, what Colmans are known for. The staff were attentive throughout and brought out a celebratory dessert for the birthday boy which was the proverbial icing on the cake of a wonderful evening. It’s a lovely building too and very well looked after. Loved it, thanks to all and looking forward for an excuse to head back soon!!

Situated on South Sheilds seafront with a sea view, a great location for fish and seafood lovers. We dined on a Sunday at 4:30 and it was very busy with a good atmosphere. We ordered: Prawn tacos, crab salad, mackerel pate, cod and chips, garlic prawns, baked cod in a caper butter. All fresh and tasty.
